RESUMEN: El Código de las Familias introduce en Cuba una regulación orgánica de la parentalidad afín, es decir, la relación entre las hijas y los hijos y la nueva pareja del progenitor en el seno de la familia reconstituida. Esbozado brevemente el marco constitucional, se examina el estatuto del progenitor afín, analizando sus deberes y facultades: se destaca, en particular, el papel subsidiario y complementario que se le atribuye, en relación con el desempeñado por la familia de origen, a imagen de una “pluriparentalidad jerarquizada”, según la fórmula, particularmente elocuente, de la doctrina argentina. Las hipótesis de multiparentalidad tipificadas por el legislador cubano invitan a profundizar en la relación entre madres y padres afines y progenitores – por así decirlo, plenos – ya sean originarios o sobrevenidos, dentro de tales escenarios.

ABSTRACT: The new Código de las Familias brings to Cuba an organic regulation of affine parenthood, the relationship between children and step-parent in the reconstituted family.
After a brief outline of the constitutional framework, the statute of the affine parent is examined, analysing duties and powers. The subsidiary and complementary role of the affine parent in relation to the family of origin is highlighted, in a manner akin to a form of “hierarchised pluri-parenthood”, to borrow the particularly eloquent formula used by Argentine scholars. The configurations of multi-parenthood introduced by the Cuban legislator encourage a closer examination of the relationship between affine parents and – so to speak – full parents, whether by origin or through subsequent legal attribution, within such scenarios.
