Resumen: En la presente investigación se realizó un estudio de la figura del control social en la legislación boliviana y sus efectos en la sociedad civil boliviana. En ese marco, a manera de introducción se efectuó una exploración sobre los antecedentes del tema, luego de ello, se efectuó un análisis del contenido del control social en la Constitución, así como su relación entre el control social, la democracia participativa, la sociedad civil y los movimientos sociales. Se concluye el trabajo, señalando que el control social establecido en la carta magna se constituye en una nueva cultura jurídica constitucional de control. Para aproximarse al objeto en estudio, se utilizarán los métodos analítico, interpretativo y comparativo.

Abstract: The paper concentrated on researching the social control in the Bolivian legal system and and its effects on Bolivian civil society. In this context, an approach on the background of the subject was undertaken as an introduction, then followed a study on the content of social control in the Constitution. The paper then dealt with the relationship between social control, participatory democracy, civil society and social movements. The study concluded by emphasizing that the social control in the Constitution establishes a new constitutional legal culture of control. With reference to methodology legal analysis, legal interpretation and comparative method was used.
